Important Update from Principal

Important Update from the Principal:

PRINCIPAL’S NEWSLETTER.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am delighted to inform you that we are ready to open our school to students.
We start off with Sixth Years on Monday 31st August and we are really looking forward to seeing them all after such a long absence. During the week we uploaded a number of information videos onto our website www.stfarnans.ie and on Facebook. I hope you found them beneficial.
As mentioned previously we will be depending on our sixth year students to lead by example following the guidelines that have been issued by the HSE.
1. Regular handwashing/sanitization.
2. Social distancing. In the school building it will mean wearing a mask. There will be a small supply of masks for those that forget.
3. Maintaining coughing and sneezing etiquette.
Sixth Years will enter the building at room 19 and go to their designated rooms. These will be signposted and teachers will be on hand to direct you to your correct room. Once in your classrooms you will receive information on new school procedures necessary to keep Covid 19 out of our community.
Pupils travelling by bus:
During the Summer months, the area directly in front of our school has been landscaped. This has meant the temporary closure of our walkway from the bus stop up to the school. The Area Engineer informed me this evening that, while they tried to give us temporary access through the site, it was deemed impossible due to insurance and Health and Safety reasons.
I am asking students, that once they get off the bus that they proceed to the traffic lights and come up to the school to the main entrance passing the primary school. Please bear in mind that primary school students will also be in this area, so it is important to maintain social distance at all times. When you enter the main gate, turn left and proceed towards room 19 entrance. While this is not ideal, full cooperation and understanding is required.
I want to take this opportunity to wish all our students and staff the very best in the year ahead.
Eddie Collins, School Principal.
