Letter to Parents

18th Sep 2020

A Letter to Parents:

At this stage our school is open to a new normal in Irish Education since Monday 31st August when we opened our school doors to Sixth Year students. Since that time all our school community hasreturned safely to formal education.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all our students, staff and parents for their cooperation in adhering to all new guidelines set out by the Department in their Roadmap for the Full Return to School.

Students and staff have embraced the wearing of masks, hand sanitizing, social distancing and the operation of year group pods. I would like to say a big well done to all our school community but especially to our students for following these new guidelines.

As we are all aware, there is a rise in cases of Covid19 in our country, and so I am asking Parents/Guardians to discuss this with their school going children and to make sure that they continue without fail to adhere to these new rules. A reminder to parents NOT to send in their daughters/sons if they are displaying any symptoms of Covid 19. Also a reminder to collect any sick child as soon as possible when asked to do so by the school. Any students displaying symptoms during the school day will be put in our isolation room until they are collected.

Over the coming time it might be necessary to leavecertain classes/year groups at home to facilitate full class supervision/teaching in the case of teacher absences for whatever reason. I will inform you of this in as much time as possible by school text if and when the need arises.

Finally, just a reminder to all parents not to arrive to school unannounced. I am asking that you ring 045 868152 beforehand. On arrival you must then fill in the contact tracing form which is located just inside the front doors.

Again, thank you for your ongoing support in all matters related to St Farnan’s Post Primary School.

Eddie Collins, Principal.
