TY Class Visit to Dublin

22nd Nov 2019

Written by Ruby Rose Casey.

On the 21st of November, the TY class Abbey visited the Dáil in Dublin.

Firstly, the class toured around the National Museum of Ireland where we looked at some great Irish Art, Culture and natural history. We saw the “Old Croughan Man” and the Prosperous Crozier that we had done projects on in Heritage Studies. We also saw the Tara brooch and the Eygptian section of the museum.

After this we went to the Dáil where we got to go into the Seánad and the Dáil itself and then got a tour and quick history of the building.

We then went to Merrion Square where we saw Oscar Wilde’s memorial sculpture, the Defence Forces memorial and Dermot Morgan’s Chair.

Then we went for lunch and saw the lights in Grafton Street and had an overall great day!
