TY European Studies Trip

30th Jan 2020

The TY Students visited the European Commission Offices and the National Gallery in January as part of their European Studies module.

The TY class is currently working on the EPAS - European Parliament Ambassador Schools Programme - and so they were keen to learn more about Ireland's involvement in the EU and they were also. thankfully, very well placed to answer Julio's questions!

Following our time in Europe house, the students were then brought on a guided tour of the National Gallery of Ireland. For many of the students, this was their first time in the Gallery and all were very pleased to see the Caravaggio masterpiece, the Taking of Christ, which they had studied as part of their Italian module.

The trip was planned to also ensure that the students were able to visit the beautiful Turner Exhibition, which is only on display during the month of January. Again, Italy features heavily in this collection and for the students, the watercolours of Venice were a highlight.
