A message from the Principal, 31/10/20:

31st Oct 2020

A message to parents and students,
As you will all be aware, the Department of Education and Skills announced changes to the approved list of products on the Education Sector PPE procurement agreement, with the withdrawal of 52 products off the approved list because they are not able to satisfactorily confirm their registration status as part of the review on all products.
These products will not be included in the approved lists for schools until their registration status has been confirmed.
On foot of this late announcement issued on October 29th 2020, I have gone through all our supplies in the school in relation to sanitiser, wipes, soaps, disinfectant cleaners etc. and I am happy to inform you that apart from our sanitizing fluid, none of our products have been removed from the recognised procurement list.
In relation to the Sanitising Gel, while it is the recognised 70% ethanol based, its registration status has yet to be confirmed by the Department. I have taken the precaution of taping off the Sanitising Gel dispensers and ordering replacement gel which I have been reassured will be delivered to the school today Saturday
From Monday I will be issuing an instruction to all students and staff not to use the gel dispensers directly outside the classrooms but that there will be a supply of sanitising fluid available in each classroom. These dispensers will be back in action as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support in relation to Covid 19 protocols and I remind parents not to send in your child to school if they are displaying any symptoms of Covid 19.
Kind regards, Eddie Collins.
