It was great to finally see the ground works for the new additional prefab school classrooms begin on our site over the past few days.
We are gaining a new fully kitted-out Home Economics kitchen, two general classrooms and a new classroom with enclosed play area which will house our current Moderate Learning Unit. Also included is a toilet block & a wide corridor for new lockers.
Thanks to the Other Accommodation Unit in the Department of Education (DES), KWETB Buildings Team and KSN our project managers for the huge amount of behind scenes work and expense that go into adding necessary rooms to our school.
Completion date is now looking like March/April 2024.
Also, the new devolved 1,000 pupil school which has been granted by the DES is currently at planning permission and tendering Stage 2B.
