Ashling Murphy Gaeltacht Scholarship

We are pleased to announce that another Gaeltacht Scholarship opportunity, courtesy of the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund Committee, has become available to our students. 

Ashling Murphy was a dedicated múinteoir bunscoile with a deep grá for the Irish language. She worked passionately to inspire her pupils, and all those around her, to cherish and actively use our native tongue. Her favourite seanfhocal was: “Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh siad” 

In Ashling’s memory, we are proud to nationally launch the Ashling Murphy Gaeltacht Scholarships, in partnership with Coláiste Chamuis, Co. Galway. These scholarships continue Ashling’s wish to encourage young people to embrace and use the Irish language with confidence.

Scholarship Details

• Who: Open to 2nd Year, Transition Year and 5th Year students
• Where: Coláiste Chamuis, Ros a’ Mhíl, Co. Galway
• When: 28th June – 17th July 2026 (inclusive)
• How to apply: Students must complete a short application form and upload a 2-minute video explaining why they would love to attend the Gaeltacht. Application form available at: ashlingmurphy.com
