Ms Delaney led our teachmeet this April and delivered a most interesting presentation on her recent experience observing a colleague in Maynooth Post Primary school. Ms Delaney is teaching a new subject in St Farnan’s ‘Politics and Society’ starting September 2023.
She joined Mr Gerard Elwood in Maynooth to conduct research and observe his lesson. Ms Delaney provided feedback to the Teaching and Learning team here in St Farnan’s about her visit.
Politics and Society aims to develop the learner’s capacity to engage in reflective and active citizenship. The subject is informed by the insights and skills of social and political sciences. It fosters student discussion and provides space for students to articulate their own ideas and be challenged on them.
