NEW: Pre-Order School Meals app for Rafter's School Meals in St. Farnan's

Our Canteen supplier, Rafter's School Meals, are now providing a new pre-order online APP to us in St. Farnan's.

Parents or students may pre-order on our website or download our App from the Play or App store. We are completely transparent when it comes to our food. Our App and website not only contain the ingredients of all menu items but also provides full nutritional information on the food being served, allowing parents and students to make an informed choice.

Our App is one of the best provided by educational contract caterers in Ireland currently. One feature is whereby as a parent you have the option to list any allergens your son or daughter may have upon registration. Menu items containing that allergen will then not be available to your son or daughter to pre-order. We are the only Education Contract Caterer in Ireland providing this very important feature on their pre ordering portal. There are two ways of preordering school meals. You may use our website www.raftersfoodservices.ie and sign up on the site for an account or download our App from the App or Play store.

Our App is called Rafters Food Services. You will be asked to sign up for an account initially. We would suggest you sign up through Google- as it's very easy and straightforward. It's also very important to sign up for a STUDENT ACCOUNT. Student accounts are only for Secondary schools.
Rafters Food Services would like to introduce our new pre ordering online App to St Farnan’s Secondary School. Our company was established in September 2015, and its ethos was to provide exceptional quality home cooked meals delivered to schools, produced daily in our Production Facility in Crookstown, Co Kildare by our team of Chefs.

The company was founded by the late Dominic Peel and Trish Colbert who have 30 years' experience as restauranteurs and it's this experience that we bring to the schools we cater for. We commenced in 2015 with ten staff providing 200 lunches a week, fast forward to 2026 and we are now providing over 20,000 nutritious lunches a week with a dedicated team of 80 people. All hot lunches are produced fresh daily using fresh local ingredients from local Irish suppliers. Our menus provide a minimum of eight hot lunch items daily along with a choice of freshly filled paninis, baguettes, homemade soup and lots more. Our menu changes every Friday for the following week.

In an eight-week period, we have a choice of over 64 menu items for students to choose from. As a company we realise all too well the importance of healthy and nutritious menu items and place a lot of emphasis on the importance of Healthy Eating during school hours. With over 30 years' experience in the food industry, it is guaranteed that every menu item will be of a consistently high standard. Our soups are freshly made daily in our production kitchen and are Gluten Free.

The soup that is provided for your child is of Restaurant Quality. We provide Gluten Free Bread for sandwiches, and all our staff are all trained on the importance of proper hygiene practices in dealing with Coeliacs, vegans, vegetarians or any student with a Dietary Allergy Our gourmet roast gravy that is offered with our lunches is also Gluten Free. Indeed, a lot of our sauces would be Gluten Free. None of our menu items will ever contain nuts, and our production facility is Nut Free.

However, we cannot guarantee that an ingredient that we have purchased has not been in contact with any nut product before we have received the same. Lunch may be pre-ordered using our online ordering system.

Once you have opened a Student Account you will be able to pre order online. The cut off time for pre ordering is 2.30pm the day previous. So, for Monday its 2.30pm on Sunday and to order for Tuesday its 2.30pm on Monday and so on. We would recommend you use the App to sign up as the App contains more features than the website. Please remember the site and App does not open until 2.30pm every Friday for the following week. We will be commencing our service on Monday February 23rd. You may register for an account at any stage. If at any stage you encounter an issue with our pre-ordering app, our website will always be available to take pre-orders.

As the App is new, we are updating some features on both the App and website. Our App will contain actual pictures of our school meals so as a parent you can see exactly what your son or daughter is purchasing, this feature will be continually updated over the next few weeks. We are local and always contactable by phone should a parent have any concerns or questions in relation to our lunches.
