Principal’s Easter Newsletter

27th Mar 2021

Easter Newsletter to Parents/Guardians.

Welcome to the St. Farnan’s Easter Newsletter.

It has been a long time since December 22nd 2020 when our school closed to most students and Teaching and Learning went on line.

Since that time our Sixth Year and our Fifth Year students, as well as our students from Room 25 and Room 26, have returned safely to the classroom. They have all adjusted well to this return, making sure to adhere to all the Covid 19 guidelines. The normal school interactions that we take so much for granted have returned and have helped bring a small bit of normality to the lives of our young students. Fifth year and Sixth year students have come back with a positivity and an enthusiasm which is very refreshing.

The Department of Education and the State Examinations Commission have issued guidelines on the Leaving Cert 2021. As you know by this stage, students are being offered a choice of written Leaving Cert or Accredited grades. Most students have opted for both, and we are told that the portal will reopen again in late April or early May for students to make a final decision.

French and Spanish Oral Exams are taking place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th of March while Irish orals will commence on Monday April 12th.

During the second week of Easter holidays our LCA students’ work is being assessed by external examiners.

We wish all our Leaving Cert students the very best in these important parts of their Leaving Certificate examinations 2021.

RETURN TO SCHOOL:

We are delighted to be able to welcome all our students back from April 12th directly after Easter. All students have been reminded about our Covid 19 Response Plan which is available elsewhere on the website.

All students will be issued with a Return To School Questionnaire on Friday, April 9th which must be completed before you can return on Monday, 12th April. This questionnaire will be sent to students’ school email addresses.
