Our annual Transition Year Graduation took place on the evening of Wednesday 22nd May 2024 in a beautifully decked out Gym.
Our 56 TY students showcased their projects and practicals, spoke about all of their trips, tours and workshops and sung and danced to the huge enjoyment of the large audience. Ms Tanya Flanagan, TY Year Head and Coordinator ably assisted by tutors, Ms Carol O’Connor and Mr Martin Furey, led the lovely ceremony. So many other staff helped organise this event to make it a fantastic experience and impressive wrap-up to the busy year.
Mr Purcell’s speech really resonated with the students and focused on the students’ growth throughout the year, both socially, emotionally, personally and academically.
Many awards were presented throughout the evening but the overall Students of the Year from Class Dante and Class Da Vinci were eagerly awaited. Abigail Royal and Ben Shortt were the overall winners but in reality, every student who undertakes TY in St Farnan’s is definitely a winner - The best TY in the country, without a doubt!
