Visit to SAP Ireland - Skills@Work Programme

28th Nov 2019

A large group of 5th year students from St. Farnan's Post Primary School visited the Irish headquarters of SAP Ireland in Citywest on November 27th as part of the Skills@Work programme.

The visit to SAP Ireland was facilitated by Victoria Carroll, company coordinator of the partnership, and the students were also addressed by Liam Ryan, the company's Managing Director.

This is the sixth year of the school's involvement in this very worthwhile initiative which sees schools work with companies in an effort to allow their students gain an insight into the world of work. The day in SAP allowed students from St. Farnan's meet with company employees who gave them some direction and guidance in relation to their future careers. They also toured the company's extensive campus, visiting the IT, Facilities and Design departments, as well as seeing some of the many canteen and leisure spaces the company offers its employees.

The students particularly enjoyed meeting some of the SAP robots who assist with technical queries and hearing about the many innovations taking place in SAP in terms of augmented reality and virtual reality.

The programme continues with a module on CV and interview preparation which will be followed by mock interviews in Citywest in the New Year.
