Amber Flag Vision at St. Farnan’s PPS
At St. Farnan’s, we are proud to promote positive mental health and wellbeing within our school community. Through shared participation, learning, and a strong sense of empowerment, we aim to build a supportive environment where every student and staff member feels valued and included.

Our Amber Flag Objectives

  • Promote Positive Mental Health: Encourage open conversations and healthy practices that support positive mental health and wellbeing for all.
  • Foster Inclusivity: Strengthen our school community through teamwork, kindness, and mutual support.
  • Raise Awareness and Understanding: Educate students and staff about mental health, helping to reduce stigma and risk factors.
  • Support Wellbeing: Enhance the quality of life for those facing mental health challenges through empathy, resources, and encouragement.

About the Amber Flag Initiative
The Amber Flag is a national initiative celebrating its 11th year, aimed at recognising the efforts of schools, clubs, and organisations in promoting mental health awareness. In the 2024/25 school year, a record 554 Amber Flags were awarded across Ireland.

When a school is awarded an Amber Flag, it is often proudly displayed as a visible sign of the school’s commitment to mental health and wellbeing.

At St. Farnan’s PPS, we are committed to continuing this important work, building a culture where mental health matters every day.

On behalf of the Committee, I extend our utmost gratitude to all staff, students and indeed the wider school community for your continued support and encouragement of this utterly important initiative.
